Hasbara strategy 2026
Hillary Clinton, on the 2nd of Dec 2025, at a summit setup by pro Israel billionaire Miriam Adelson, complained about young people getting their news from social media.1
Sarah Hurwitz, former speechwriter for the Obamas offers a solution to this apparent problem by suggesting young Jewish people be prevented from accessing social media until they have been properly groomed to justify unjustifiable Israeli war crimes.2
Self identified Zionist Bari Weiss, now head of CBS news, wants to define the lines of acceptable debate in politics.3
All three obviously want to control what people are allowed to see and say, but what message do they want to allow in their stated desire to shift public opinion back towards being pro the genocidal apartheid Zionist state of Israel.
Well a clue is from reporting by Drop Site News which reveals a leaked polling report from Israel in Sep 2025 suggested Israel's best messaging would not come from attempting to defend Israeli action but instead fomenting fear of "Radical Islam" and "Jihadism".4
And maybe the best early example of this strategy comes from some absolutely deranged statements from very established British Journalist Melanie Phillips, who, at a very ironically named "Rage Against the Hate" conference in October 2025, tied, with no basis in reality, the cause of Palestinian freedom to "Islamic Holy War" and a trojan horse for "The Islamization of the West" and claiming the "Forces of Islam" are a "death cult", and that's just from the start of her nearly twenty minute rant.5 That she hasn't been ostracized from the British media until she apologizes for her hateful bigotry shows how normalized and acceptable Islamophobia is and what a strong basis of prejudice the Israeli government has to work from.
Israel, in fact, has allocated over 700 million dollars to their hasbara propaganda budget in 20266. This is a good thing, actually, as every dollar they spend on demonizing Muslims is a dollar not spent on the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people or the maintenance of the genocidal state. But it is still a lot of money and considering how much buy in there is from the rich and powerful as well, we must be prepared for Islamophobia to get much, much worse in the New Year.
