When it matters
Carney is a Trump bootlicker and a Western Imperialist warmonger when it really matters and there's no greater proof of that...
... then his horrific statement on Iran on the 28th of February 20261. Let's go through it and talk about what's happening.
It starts out by stating:
The Canadian government is closely following Iran-related hostilities
Off to a terrible start as this is a very odd way of describing an illegal and unilateral attack on Iran by Israel and the United States of America. The warmongers who actually initiated the hostilities by attacking Iran aren't even mentioned until about 2/3rds of the way through the statement. It gets no better from here as in the very next paragraph we see:
Canada’s position remains clear: the Islamic Republic of Iran is the principal source of instability and terror throughout the Middle East
Minor point, the region is called West Asia now as that's not a Euro centric way of looking at the world, using the term "Middle East" is a revealing choice of words by the Oxford educated Carney who earned his degree back in the 1900s. But the most important point here by far is that this is a straight up complete and deep inversion of reality. It turns the perpetrators into victims and vice versa, because, again, it was Iran that was attacked here. The principal source of instability and terror in that region of the world is Israel and the Untied States of America2, and that has been true for decades before the Islamic Republic even existed3. The region has been in chaos since the end of WWI, which was when Europeans carved the place up for colonial purposes4 and then the Americans took over administering it after WW II and Zionism has been a key part of fomenting the chaos since the late 1800s.5
Why then did Carney lie because he's obviously educated enough to know all of this. Is he so enamoured with Western imperialism that he truly believes instability and terror just means targeting Western imperialist interests? Or is he cynically gaslighting Canadians for some other purpose. I don't care. I just know I'm tired of being lied to by my leaders.
Then there's a long list of complains about Iran daring to have any nuclear program at all, and supporting resistance groups that they term 'proxies' and then ends with the astoundingly tone deaf.
Canada reaffirms Israel's right to defend itself
What about Iran's right to defend itself Carney? Why isn't that sentiment anywhere in here? Why is it, exactly that the no doubt brutally oppressive Islamic Republic of Iran is denied the right to defend itself while the no doubt genocidal Zionist state of Israel allowed it?
Then the kicker is in the penultimate sentence
Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security.
Despite what a lot of Carney supporters claim this is Carney giving Donald J. Trump, of all people, Canadian support no matter WHAT the Americans and Israelis do, so long as they claim to be doing it for preventing a nuke or threatening international peace and security. A standard so vague that it's a blank cheque to do whatever they please.
Hell, they could use this statement to justify the death of dozens of Iranian school girls in the opening day of the war6 because after all, the girls could have grown up to be Iranian nuclear scientists and 'threaten international peace and security' and we all know the assassination of Iranian scientists isn't a war crime in Yankee Bloc countries for some reason7.
Not only is it a heinous sentiment, it is a slap in the face of every Canadian who has done the work to boycott the United States of America8. Because for all his pretty words at Davos, when it matters, Mark Carney acts like a Western Imperialist warmonger, and a Donald Trump bootlicker.
All opinions my own, in the end only God knows best, may he punish the wicked, and protect, not only the innocent, but those who fight the wicked, and lose their innocence thereby.
